CART was created to help transport animals out of Central Arkansas by finding destination partners and handling the transport specifics (without any cat intake) for local rescues and shelters. In CART’s second year, it became clear that these opportunities could be shared beyond Central Arkansas with rescues and shelters that had the transport expertise, capability, and need. Through collaboration and teamwork, more animals could be saved through transport. This growth led to the formation of a coalition, transporting thousands of animals out of the state to find forever homes. Today, we are officially the Coalition of Animal Rescue Transporters, with 10 members participating.
The mission of the Coaliton of Animal Rescue Transporters (CART) is to collaborate and share opportunities to transport rescue animals from shelters and rescues to the same in other states that have more adoption demand than in the Coalition members’ home area.
