The mission of the Coalition of Animal Rescue Transporters (CART) is to collaborate and share opportunities to transport rescue animals from shelters and rescues to the same in other states that have more adoption demand than in the Coalition members’ home area. CART acts as a service provider to Coalition members, assisting with:
Initial transport planning and logistics
Maintenance of Best Practice Standards, to develop a high-quality transport program shared by members
To keep this lifesaving work going, CART relies on funding to support the cost of transport. As we look ahead to 2026, we are facing the need for replacement funding to maintain our current volume and continue serving our 10 member organizations. Transport saves lives, but it comes with real expenses like vehicles, fuel, and supplies. With continued support, CART can keep animals moving from overcrowded shelters to communities where they are quickly adopted, keeping this pathway open for rescues and the animals who depend on it.
Minnesota Transport
CART was created to help transport cats out of Central Arkansas by finding destination partners and handling the transport specifics (without any cat intake) for local rescues and shelters.
